Dr. Ashley was born and raised in rural northern New York, about 25 miles from the Canadian border.  In 1993 he was awarded an Army ROTC scholarship and attended Le Moyne College, located in Syracuse, NY as a biology major.  Upon graduation he was commissioned in the US Army and received an educational delay allowing him to attend dental school.  Dr. Ashley graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, in Cleveland, OH in 2001.

After dental school, he entered active duty at Fort Benning, GA as a general dentist where he completed a residency in general dentistry in 2002.    Dr. Ashley was lucky to be assigned to 3rd Special Forces Group (Airborne) from 2002-2005, where he deployed to Afghanistan twice in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.  He completed his endodontic residency at Fort Bragg, NC in 2007.  In 2018 Dr. Ashley distinguished himself by completing the requirements to become board certified in endodontics, a distinction that less than 30% of endodontists in the United States have achieved.  The Army has given Dr. Ashley and his family the opportunity to live in GA, NC, NY, VA and finally back to GA.

The Ashley family has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the United States Army and specifically the Dental Corps, but Dr. Ashley is super excited to become a full time endodontist at East Alabama Endodontics in 2022 when he will officially be retired from active duty.

In his free time, Dr. Ashley enjoys spending as much time as he can with his family.  Dr. Ashley and his wife of 20 years, Lori, have 5 children that keep them very busy.  He loves to vacation with his family, especially at the beach, the mountains and Walt Disney World.  When Dr. Ashley has time he likes to read historical fiction; exercise and enjoy anything in the great outdoors  Dr. Ashley could not be more excited to be a part of the community and to be able to deliver
